It is to be noted that two consecutive devastating earthquakes in the early hours of Thursday Indian time have practically turned into a death knell in Venezuela. So far 1500 people have died in this natural disaster. Besides, at least 10,000 people are missing. India’s ‘Operation Amistad’ has started to deliver relief and medical services to earthquake-ravaged Venezuela. The word ‘Amistad’ means ‘friendship’ in Spanish. According to experts, New Delhi wants to send a message of strengthening India-Venezuela bilateral relations by extending a helping hand.
