India vs Sri Lanka: Big update on India-Sri Lanka Test series, announcement of match dates with Team India; Suspense regarding T20

Colombo. A two-match Test series will be played between Sri Lanka and India in the month of August. The date of the test match has not been decided yet. The series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) phase. Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have told Cricbuzz that the matches will be played between August 15 and 27.

Sri Lanka Cricket has fixed a two-week schedule for the matches. However, there is confusion regarding the T-20 series on India’s tour of Sri Lanka. There has been no confirmation yet as to which three T20 International matches were to be added to this tour. These two Tests will take place after the Lanka Premier League (LPL), which ends on August 9, and the schedule has been shared with all stakeholders involved in the series, including the Indian team.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has gone to Sri Lanka as a representative of the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take stock of the situation in Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) after the board was recently dissolved by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s government. The government has since appointed an interim body, the Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee.
