Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets

IPL: The 63rd match of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2026 was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, in which a fierce clash was seen between the hosts Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the end, Sunrisers Hyderabad team was successful in winning. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad confirmed their place in the playoffs with 16 points. Not only this, Gujarat Titans also benefited from Hyderabad’s victory. With SRH’s win, Gujarat Titans have also reached the playoffs with 16 points. In this way, 3 teams were decided for the playoffs of IPL 2026. Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore had become the first team to get the playoff ticket. Now there is a fight between 5 teams for the fourth spot of the playoffs. SRH got the target of 181 runs to win
In this match played in Chepauk, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bat first. Batting first, Chennai team managed to score 180 runs by losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Devold Brevis played the highest innings of 44 runs for Chennai. Whereas, Karthik Sharma contributed 32 runs. Captain Pat Cummins took maximum 3 wickets in his bag for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kishan played match winning innings
Sunrisers Hyderabad team, which came to chase the target of 181 runs, had a very bad start. Opener Travis Head departed in the third over itself. Abhishek Sharma also returned to the pavilion in the 8th over. After this there was a partnership of 75 runs between Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan. Klaasen was out after scoring 47 runs, but Ishan Kishan managed to maintain the pace of runs from the other end. By the time Ishan Kishan was out after scoring 70 runs in the 19th over, Hyderabad team was close to victory. In the end, Smaran Ravichandran gave his team a spectacular victory by hitting a four on the last ball of the 19th over.
