IND W vs JAP W Asian Games 2026: The Indian women’s team has made a great start in the Asian Games 2026. The Indian team performed brilliantly against the Japan women’s team in the quarter-finals and registered a spectacular victory by 8 wickets. Indian bowlers bundled out the entire Japanese team for just 57 runs and registered victory in just 5 overs while chasing. Japan’s innings ended in 19.5 overs. Shri Charani was the most successful bowler from India. He took 4 wickets for just 10 runs in 4 overs and during this period also bowled two maiden overs.
Japan’s batsmen could not score runs openly in front of the Indian bowlers. Ayaka Kato-Stafford scored the most runs for the team by scoring 25 runs in 47 balls. Haruna Iwasaki contributed 10 runs on 22 balls. Apart from these, no batsman could reach the 10 run mark. Indian bowlers maintained constant pressure and took wickets at regular intervals.
Excellent bowling by Shri Charani
For India, Shri Charani took four wickets, while Shafali Verma took two wickets for 13 runs. Deepti Sharma and Shreyanka Patil also got one success each. Indian fielding was also excellent and Hinse Goto and Ahilya Chandel were run out. In this way the entire Japanese team returned to the pavilion on 57 runs. Japan’s batting appeared to be under complete pressure in front of the Indian bowlers.
Shafali created havoc as soon as she arrived
Chasing the target of 58 runs, India made a fast start. Shafali Verma scored 40 runs in just 15 balls. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. However, Gunalan Kamalini was out without opening the account, while Bharti Phulmali returned to the pavilion after scoring 6 runs. After this Richa Ghosh supported Shafali. He scored 12 runs in 6 balls with the help of 2 fours and led Team India to victory. Now India will face Bangladesh team in the second semi-final on 20th September.
