Today is the last day of the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow and India is eyeing to win 7 more medals. India is at the fourth position in the medal tally with a total of 39 medals (13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze). In the judo field, Ishrup Narang and Yash Ghanghas will try their best to win a gold medal. Avtar Singh is out of the competition after losing to a player from Cyprus. India has won 4 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze) in judo so far. On the other hand, in track cycling, Dinesh Kumar, Harshveer Singh Sekhon, Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam and Lisha Das will try to give India its first medal in the sport.
Indian judoka Ishrup Narang had a brilliant performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. She defeated Cameroon’s Georgica Wesley in the women’s -78kg repechage match to secure her place in the bronze medal competition. Ishrup was trailing at one point in the match, but made a strong comeback in the final minute to win with a waza-ari move. With this win, India’s medal hopes remain alive.
