Indian Railway: Inauguration of three phases of 326 km freight line by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The completion of Western and Eastern dedicated freight rail lines is witnessing a historic transformation in the country's freight sector. A significant achievement of this transformation is the passage of the first double-stack container freight train from the JNPT port.
Due to this, more than 250 trucks of goods can be transported from Mumbai in one freight train. This will reduce the time and cost of cargo transportation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that this matter will give a new speed and direction to the logistics system of the country.

Referring to the pace of infrastructure development in the country since 2014, Prime Minister Modi said the East and West dedicated freight rail lines were successfully completed. He mentioned that this route is bringing a fundamental change in the trade system of the country and it is becoming the basis of national trade.
What are the benefits?
With the separation of passenger and freight railways, more than 430 freight trains can run daily. A journey of about 30 hours by truck can now be completed in 10 to 12 hours. The time required to cover a distance of 100 km has been reduced by half as compared to earlier. This leads to many benefits such as saving fuel, reducing freight costs and protecting the environment. Prime Minister Modi also said that he invested in one route, but got many benefits from it.
The agricultural sector will also benefit greatly from the expanded freight network. It is now possible for farmers in East and West India to transport perishable agricultural products to larger markets faster. He said that seasonal flowers, vegetables and fruits are reaching consumers as well as markets on time, thereby benefiting farmers immensely.
