Four Indian tourists fainted in a cafe in Thailand, one died, Thai agencies engaged in investigation

THAILAND: A shocking incident involving Indian tourists has come to light from Phuket, Thailand. Four Indian youth suddenly fainted while eating food in a cafe here. One tourist died in this incident, while three others are undergoing treatment in the hospital. After the matter came to light, both the local administration and the Indian Embassy have become active.

Giving information on social media, the Indian Embassy, ​​Bangkok said that this incident which took place in Phuket on 9 May 2026 is being continuously monitored. The embassy expressed condolences to the family of the deceased Indian youth and said that the team of officials is in touch with the victim’s family. Also, the investigation of the case is being monitored in collaboration with Thai agencies.

According to local media reports, the incident took place at a cafe located in Kamala Beach area of ​​Phuket. It was told that five Indian youths had reached there on Friday night. At around 2 o’clock in the night, four members of the group started fainting one by one. The cafe staff immediately informed the emergency services, after which everyone was admitted to different hospitals.

Investigation revealed that those whose health deteriorated included Kushagra Agarwal, Rahul Agarwal and Aman Agarwal and other youths. Whereas no symptoms were found in a young man named Aryan Verma.

One youth died, condition of three is stable

According to hospital sources, the condition of Kushagra Agarwal was the most serious. He later died during treatment. Two other youths were referred to another hospital in a coma-like state, while the condition of the remaining patients is now said to be stable. Thai police and forensic team are currently trying to find out the real cause of death. Officials say that only after the postmortem report and medical examination, it will be clear what happened in the cafe due to which the health of four people deteriorated simultaneously.
