Indian women's wrestler Kajal Dhochak won the gold medal in the U20 Wrestling World Championship in the 76 kg category. Kajal defeated Jingru Sun of China 7-0 in the final to win the world title. With this, she joins a select group of Indian women wrestlers to become Under-20 world champions for the second time in a row.

Champion again with a tremendous performance
The 18-year-old Kajal dominated the entire tournament and did not lose a single point in any match. In the final, she pressured Jingru Sun of China from the start. She maintained her lead till the end and won the match 7-0. Kajal stepped-out early in the final to score a point. She then used a double-leg attack to score two more takedowns and take a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period. In the second round, Sun received a warning for attacking with 'open hands', adding another point to Kajal's account. After that, Kajal continued her aggressive stance. She pushed Sun off the mat to score another point and then extended her lead to 7-0 with a takedown.
This is Kajal's second consecutive U-20 World Championship title. She had won the gold medal in 2025 in the 72 kg category. This year, she changed her weight group to 76 kg and was successful in that too. Kajal's impressive achievements include winning the 69 kg category at the 2024 U-17 World Championships. With this win, she became the second Indian women's wrestler to win two world titles at the U-20 level.

Kajal's impressive performance in 2026 continues. The gold medal at the U-20 World Championships is her fifth gold in a row this year. Earlier, she won gold medals in U-23 Asian Championship, Ulaanbaatar Ranking Series, U-20 Asian Championship and Budapest Ranking Series. However, she finished seventh in the Tirana Ranking Series and Asian Championships.
