Kia has opened its largest showroom in India, measured by display area and frontage, in Kozhikode, Kerala. Developed with dealer partner DKH Kia, the new facility has a 9,365 sq ft showroom and a 187-foot-wide front, with enough room to display 14 vehicles at a time. It also has nine mechanical service bays and seven body-shop bays, making the opening more than an expansion of showroom space.
The dealership occupies a 68,867 sq ft plot, but that is the area of the entire site, not the showroom itself. Kia’s claim of being the largest applies to its showroom area and frontage. The company has not said that the facility has the highest workshop capacity or is the largest car dealership in the country across all brands.
Kia has expanded well beyond the Seltos with which it entered the market in 2019. Its portfolio now covers the Sonet, Syros, Seltos, Carens, Carens Clavis, Carnival and electric models including the Carens Clavis EV, EV6 and EV9. That gives it compact SUVs, three-row family vehicles, premium MPVs and EVs aimed at very different customers.
A conventional showroom with room for only a few cars cannot always display the full range. A 14-vehicle display capacity gives the Calicut dealership more flexibility to present different models and variants together, making comparisons easier for buyers. The company has not specified which 14 cars will be on display permanently, so the figure should be treated as capacity rather than a promise of one example of every model.
The showroom also has a practical advantage for families considering three-row cars. They can compare access to the second and third rows, cabin space, seating layouts and luggage capacity before booking a test drive. For electric car customers, the dealership will still need to explain home charging, public charging and battery warranties in detail; a larger building does not replace those discussions.
The new facility includes nine bays for mechanical work and seven for body repair. These are different functions: routine servicing and mechanical repairs use one set of bays, while accident damage, panel repairs and paintwork require separate body-shop capacity.
That distinction matters because service availability affects ownership long after the car has been delivered. Kia owners in and around Kozhikode may benefit from more appointment capacity and a nearby repair option. Actual turnaround times will depend on technician availability, parts supply, workshop workload and insurance approvals, none of which can be measured from the number of bays alone.

The opening is DKH Kia’s third facility in the Calicut area. The dealer group now has 12 facilities across Kerala and says it has retailed more than 21,000 Kia vehicles since beginning operations in 2019. That historical retail total provides some context for why the dealer is expanding, although Kia has not disclosed how many customers the new site is expected to serve each month.
Kia also inaugurated three Studio outlets digitally in Thamarassery, Puthanathani and Wayanad. These extend the company’s reach beyond large city centres into towns where customers may otherwise have to travel for a product demonstration or sales consultation.
Nationwide, Kia now reports 925 customer touchpoints across 438 cities. Touchpoints include different types of sales and service locations, not 925 full-sized showrooms. Kia is therefore growing through both large integrated dealerships and smaller retail formats rather than relying on one model for every location.
Kia recorded 33,462 domestic wholesales in October 2026, up 13.2% from 29,556 in October last year. It was the company’s highest monthly dispatch total since entering the market, beating September’s record of 32,017 units. Kia also crossed 2.86 lakh domestic wholesales for January-October, ahead of its entire 2025 calendar-year total.
The Seltos and Sonet remain the main volume drivers, while additional electric and three-row models have widened Kia’s potential customer base. Larger sales volumes place greater demands on workshops and spare-parts distribution, making aftersales expansion particularly important.
