Trained dogs of the Indian Army took part in the ongoing 'War Exercise 2026' between India and the US. These four trained dogs named Rhys, Victor, Jack and Rowdy demonstrated their ability to help soldiers during special missions. The American army was quite amazed by their skill.
During the study, the dogs entered a suspect location and participated in training such as rappelling down a rope. The American troops got to see very closely the demonstration of how these trained dogs of the Indian army fleet help the soldiers of our country.
All four dogs are of different species
Importantly, these four trained dogs are of different breeds. Rowdy and Victor belong to the indigenous Rampur Hound breed. The good thing is, the use of Indian breeds of dogs in major missions by the Indian Army is increasing significantly. Also, Jack is a Belgian Malinois, while Rhys is a Labrador Retriever.
These trained dogs have experience of deployment in northern and eastern border regions of India. Rampur hounds played an important role in detecting IEDs or Improvised Explosive Devices during an operation in Manipur.

Significant achievement in 'Operation Sindoor'
According to the Army, these four canine siblings were deployed in different sectors of Jalandhar and Amritsar during 'Operation Sindoor'. This brought out the adaptability of these trained dogs in various environments and situations. Their partnership in the War Exercise 2026 thus proves once again that these trained dogs have become vital companions in the fleet of the Indian Army.
Meanwhile, the 22nd season of war drills between the two countries is underway from the snowy hills of Auli in Uttarakhand to the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. 600 soldiers each from India and US have participated in the exercise. The latest technology is being used in this study. Drones and other systems are also being used for military patrols.
