New Delhi, 12 July 2026: A test match is being played between India and England at Lord’s ground. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has created history on this prestigious ground; By scoring 58 runs in the first innings, he became the first Indian cricketer to score a half-century in all three formats at Lord’s.
Till now, no Indian cricketer has scored a half-century in all three formats, men’s and women’s, while playing at Lord’s. Harmanpreet has created history by leaving behind stalwarts like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Mithali Raj.
Harmanpreet Kaur had earlier scored half-century in One-day and T20 matches at Lord’s ground. Now, she has achieved a historic feat by becoming the first woman to score a half-century in a Test match on this ground.
In the first innings, when the Indian team had lost three wickets for 101 runs, captain Harmanpreet came to bat. After that he registered an important partnership of 89 runs with Smriti Mandhana. Although Team India lost its first two wickets on the score of 37 runs, yet with the help of half centuries from Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma, the team was able to score a total of 285 runs in the first innings.
Smriti Mandhana missed out on scoring the 18th century of her international career and was out after scoring 83 runs. In reply to India’s score of 285 runs, England had scored 21 runs for 1 wicket by the end of the first day’s play. It is noteworthy that after 1995, England has not defeated the Indian team in women’s Test cricket; That was the only occasion when England won against Team India in a women’s test match.
