Instagram silently removed AI feature, after protest from users Meta took a big decision, now Indian government will also investigate

Meta AI Feature: Although Instagram remains in the news a lot, but now the new AI feature has come into discussion, after which Meta is now embroiled in controversies regarding the same feature. Let us tell you that the company had rolled out an AI tool named Muse Image on the platform some time ago, but after the questions raised and increasing opposition regarding the privacy of the users, Meta has removed this feature without much fanfare. Now the Government of India has also taken a serious stance on this entire matter and has asked for an investigation.

Why did the AI feature have to be removed?

It is being told in media reports in which Meta told in its official blog that Muse Image was launched with the aim of giving a new creative AI tool to the users. Through this feature, users could decide whether their posts could be used for AI models or not. But the response from users was not as expected. After which now the biggest controversy arose over the fact that all public Instagram accounts were already included in this feature.

Which simply means that if someone did not want his photos to be used for AI, he had to go and change the settings himself. But after increasing opposition, Meta has removed this feature for the time being, although the rest of the company’s Muse Image AI image generation system will remain available as before.

Indian government showed strictness

If any kind of violation of rules comes to light, then the entire matter will be looked into under Indian laws. Let us tell you that for some time now, the Government of India has been continuously adopting a strict stance regarding the use of deepfakes, AI generated images and personal data without permission. In such a situation, this matter can decide the direction of new rules related to AI in the future.

The opposition to this feature of Meta has not been limited to just common users.
