Inter have officially announced their Champions League squad for the 2026-27 season, including all of the summer’s new signings: John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic and Djed Spence.

All clubs competing in UEFA competitions in 2026-27 submitted their squads for the league phase campaign by the end of Wednesday, September 2, the day after the close of the summer transfer window for the majority of European nations.

Teams are permitted to name a maximum of 25 players on their ‘List A’. Of those 25 players, at least two must be goalkeepers and eight must be ‘locally trained players’ ie. those who were based in Italy for at least three uninterrupted years between the ages of 15 and 21.

Teams are also able to name an unlimited number of players on their ‘List B’, typically reserved for youth-team players. Any player can be named on List B as long as they were born on or after January 1, 2005, and as long as they have played for the club for an uninterrupted period of at least two years.

That means that 21-year-old Italy international Pio Esposito, born on June 28, 2005, has been included on Inter’s List B rather than List A with the rest of the senior squad. The same is also true for Aleksandar Stankovic, who spent the entirety of his youth career with the Nerazzurri and also falls under the age limit.

Inter have only named 23 players in their List A rather than the maximum 25, however, this is because they only have seven locally-trained players in List A rather than eight, and in these instances, the squad limit is reduced accordingly.

Inter’s seven locally-trained players are Ivan Provedel, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, Mattia Marello, Nicolo Barella and Poland international Piotr Zielinski, who joined Udinese aged 16 and has been based in Italy ever since.
