Internet missing, customer care missing; Questions raised on Timbl’s services in Kashipur

Kashipur. In today’s digital era, internet has become a basic necessity like electricity and water, but the last one week has been no less than a headache for the customers of ‘Timbl’ broadband in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. Timbal’s services in a large part of the city have come to a complete standstill for the last seven days. The situation is that whether it is professionals working from home or students studying online, everyone is in limbo at this time. The biggest displeasure is that in this time of crisis, the company’s customer care and local representatives seem to be completely ‘missing’.

Actually, the network of Timbal Broadband in Kashipur has been working poorly for a long time, but since last one week the situation has become worse. Customers allege that after the internet connection was cut, when they tried to contact the company’s helpline numbers, no concrete response was received from there. Even after waiting for hours, the call is not getting connected and even if it is getting connected, only assurance is being given in the name of solution. According to the local people, most of the company’s employees and technical team members have now stopped picking up the calls of the customers, due to which the anger of the consumers is at its peak.

Impossible to contact customer care

Generally, when any technical fault occurs in any service sector, the customer care department is ready to provide information to the customers and listen to their problems. But in the case of Timble, the story seems to be completely opposite. Troubled customers of the city say that they lodged complaints dozens of times, but no ‘follow-up’ was taken from the company. It is being told that people who are tired of visiting the company’s office are now venting their anger on social media. People say that despite taking a month’s advance payment, how can the company provide such careless service?

Bad impact on work and studies

Internet shutdown has had a direct impact on the working class of Kashipur. IT professionals working from home have to rely on mobile data to complete their projects, which is neither fast nor stable compared to broadband. Apart from this, school and college students, who are busy preparing for many important exams or attending online classes these days, are also facing a lot of problems. Local businessmen say that they have to wander here and there even for online transactions and billing. This ‘silence’ of Timbl has dealt a major blow to customer confidence.

Company claims: Service will be restored by tomorrow

When this entire matter was discussed with the team leader of Udham Singh Nagar Vishesh, he tried to handle the situation. He admitted that connectivity problems persisted for the last few days. Vishesh assured that every effort is being made to make the connection smooth today i.e. on 5th May itself. He further said that “in any case, all the affected connections in the city will be restarted by tomorrow, May 6 at the latest.” However, when he was asked the question why the customer care and staff maintained distance from the customers for so many days, he had no clear answer.

At present, Timbal customers of Kashipur are looking at this new promise of the company with suspicion. After the trouble of the last one week, people are now waiting to see whether the ‘green light’ will actually come on their home routers by tomorrow or whether they will have to live with assurances once again. If services are not restored by tomorrow, consumers are now preparing to go to the consumer forum.
