IOB Security Guard Recruitment 2026: Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has started the recruitment process for 25 posts of Security Guard for Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Agniveers. These appointments will be made in Chennai/Tamil Nadu. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of the bank iob.bank.in from 25 August 2026 to 14 September 2026. The special thing is that no application fee will be charged for this recruitment. There are a total of 25 Security Guard posts in this recruitment. Of these, 12 posts are for General, 7 OBC, 4 SC and 2 EWS candidates, while no post is earmarked for ST.
These vacancies are exclusively for eligible ex-servicemen and ex-firefighters. Disabled ex-servicemen are not included in the scope of this recruitment.
Who can apply?
The applicant must be an ex-serviceman/ex-firefighter from the Indian Army, Navy or Air Force. Such serving candidates can also apply whose Specific Period of Engagement (SPE) is completing on or before 30 September 2026. In terms of educational qualification, the candidate must have passed 10th class or equivalent examination, but must not have passed Graduation or its equivalent examination.
The candidate should also be able to speak, read and write Tamil language. It is also necessary to fulfill the prescribed medical and character standards at the time of discharge.
Age Limit and Relaxation: Maximum age is 26 years for General candidates, 29 years for OBC and 31 years for SC/ST. Ex-servicemen can get additional relaxation of actual length of defense service plus 3 years, although the maximum age is normally limited to 45 years. The maximum age for Agniveer is 21 years, including their actual service period and a relaxation of 3 years.
The salary of IOB Security Guard will be paid to the Security Guard as per the pay scale of Subordinate Staff Cadre. The pay scale ranges from Rs 19,500 to Rs 37,815. The final pay for ex-servicemen will be determined as per the last pay drawn during defense service and the applicable policies of the Bank.
The period of probation is 6 months of active service. The selection process will be in three stages: Online Objective Test: Total 80 marks from English, Aptitude,
Arithmetic and Psychometric Test. Tamil Language Test: Maximum 20 marks. Physical Fitness Test: Total 100 marks, which includes Push-ups, Sit-ups, 1 kilometer run and Drill. Also, it is necessary to score minimum 65 marks in it. The dates of online test, language test and physical test have not been announced yet.
