New Delhi, August 10, 2026: Apple could soon increase the prices of its iPhone 17 lineup amid rising memory component costs, according to a new leak. The company has already increased prices of several other products in recent months, while the iPhone 17 series has largely avoided price revisions in most markets.

iPhone 17 Price Hike Tipped
Tipster Fixed Focus Digital claimed on Weibo that rumours were circulating about an iPhone 17 price revision taking effect on August 10. However, the tipster appeared uncertain about whether the reported price change would actually take place.
The post also claimed that Apple had cancelled plans to increase production capacity on some production lines by 15% to 30%. The tipster did not specify which Apple products the reported production changes referred to.
Apple Already Raised Prices of Other Products
The latest report comes after Apple increased prices across several product categories in June. In India, the company raised prices of MacBooks, Macs, iPads, Apple TV models and HomePod speakers, with some products becoming up to Rs. 1 lakh more expensive.
The company attributed the price revisions to an unprecedented increase in DRAM and NAND flash storage prices, driven largely by growing demand for AI infrastructure.
The iPhone lineup was largely excluded from that round of price increases globally, except in Japan. Apple has already raised iPhone prices in Japan, with the standard iPhone 17 reportedly becoming 11.3% more expensive.
Previous Reports Also Pointed to Higher iPhone 17 Prices
This is not the first report to suggest a possible price increase for the iPhone 17 series.
A previous report claimed that Apple could increase the price of the standard iPhone 17 by Rs. 12,000. Under the reported revision, the 256GB model could increase from its launch price of Rs. 82,900 to Rs. 94,990.
Similar price increases were also reportedly expected for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, although their revised prices were not specified.
iPhone 18 Series Could Also Become More Expensive
There are also concerns that Apple’s next-generation lineup, widely expected to be called the iPhone 18 series, could cost more to manufacture.
A Counterpoint Research estimate suggests that the component cost of the 1TB iPhone 18 Pro Max could approach $900, compared with roughly $550 for the equivalent iPhone 17 Pro Max. The reported increase is primarily linked to higher NAND storage and DRAM costs.
IDC has separately predicted that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could see price increases of up to $200 compared with the current models.
The latest iPhone 17 price hike report remains based on a tipster’s claim, and Apple has not confirmed any such price revision.
