IPL 2026 Playoffs: Gujarat and RCB’s place in the playoffs confirmed; 6 teams will compete for the remaining 2 places

The race for the IPL 2026 playoffs has now become quite exciting. With only 13 matches left in the league, the first team to qualify for the playoffs has still not been decided. So far, Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore have earned 16 points each. But they still have to confirm their place in the playoffs.

Overall, if we look at IPL, the team which earns 16 points qualifies for the playoffs. But this time it is not so. After the RCB vs KKR match, the race for a place in the playoffs is now between six teams. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are officially out of the competition. Whereas the chances of Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders of reaching the playoffs have also reduced. Let us see how the equation is shaping up for each team now.

Gujarat Titans
Looking at Gujarat’s points, it has a 99.7% chance of reaching the playoffs. Gujarat has 82.6% chance of being at second position. GT has two matches to play and the maximum it can score is 20 points.

Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB has 16 points and has two more matches to play in the league stage. Based on his points, he has a 99% chance of reaching the top 4. Not only this, there is a 77.6% chance of him reaching the top two.

Sunrisers Hyderabad
Based on their current points, SRH have a 77% chance of reaching the top 4. Whereas its chances of reaching the top two are only 31.4%. He has to play two matches.

PBKS has three matches to play and can score a maximum of 19 points. So, this team has a 63.6% chance of reaching the top four and a 22.2% chance of reaching the top two.

Chennai Super Kings
CSK has 53.2% chance of reaching top 4. Its remaining three matches are against Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. The last two matches are difficult. CSK’s chances of reaching top 2 are only 19%.

Rajasthan Royals

KKR and Delhi
