IPL 2026: Shreyas Iyer equaled MS Dhoni’s big record, but came out ahead in this matter

Shreyas Iyer has reached joint sixth place in the list of players who have scored most 50-plus runs as captain in IPL history. Till now, while being the captain, Iyer has played innings of 50 or more runs 22 times. The special thing is that he has achieved this feat in relatively less innings.
Compared to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record, Iyer has achieved this figure in just 90 innings, whereas Dhoni had scored 50+ runs 22 times in 204 innings as captain. In this way, in terms of average, Shreyas Iyer has gone ahead of Dhoni in this matter.
List of captains with highest 50+ scores in IPL
Virat Kohli remains at the top in terms of scoring most 50+ scores as a captain in IPL history with 42 times. After him, David Warner has achieved this feat 33 times and Gautam Gambhir has achieved this feat 31 times. Rohit Sharma leads the list with 50+ scores 25 times and KL Rahul 24 times.
