IPL: Gujarat Titans out of the race for the final, Mumbai wins by 20 runs Gujarati
Chandigarh: Mumbai Indians have got the ticket for the second qualifier of IPL 2025. Mumbai defeated Gujarat Titans by 12 runs in the eliminator match. With this defeat, Gujarat’s journey in IPL 2025 has come to an end. Batting first, Mumbai scored 228 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs due to the explosive innings of 81 runs played by Rohit Sharma. Chasing a huge target of 229 runs, Gujarat team could score 208 runs after losing 6 wickets. Now Mumbai will face Punjab Kings in the second qualifier match on June 1.
Gujarat Titans did not have a good start while chasing the huge target of 229 runs. Captain Shubhman Gill was dismissed by Trent Boult on the score of just one run. At the same time, Kushal Mendis returned to the pavilion after hitting some powerful shots. After this, Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar took over the responsibility. Both added 84 runs for the third wicket. Sundar batted brilliantly and played a brilliant inning of 48 runs in just 24 balls. During this inning, Sundar hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. Sundar was clean bowled by Bumrah with a tremendous yorker and sent to the pavilion.

Sudarshan was clean bowled by Richard Gleeson and sent to the pavilion. Rutherford and Rahul Tewatia played some powerful shots in the last match, but they could not prevent the team’s defeat. With this defeat, Gujarat is out of IPL 2025. In bowling, Trent Boult took two wickets for Mumbai, while Bumrah took one wicket for just 27 runs.
Earlier, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first. The pair of Rohit Sharma and Jonny Bairstow proved this decision absolutely right. Mumbai scored 79 runs in the powerplay itself. Bairstow played a quick inning of 47 runs facing only 22 balls. Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly and scored 81 runs in 50 balls. During his innings, the hitman hit 9 fours and 4 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav, who came third, scored 33 runs in 20 balls. Tilak Verma scored 25 runs in just 11 balls, while captain Hardike scored 22 unbeaten runs in 9 balls, taking Mumbai’s total to 228 runs.
