Iqbal Engineer’s big claim in PDA Panchayat – People of Thakurdwara will not sit silent now

Mayank Trigun, Moradabad. These days the formula of ‘PDA’ (Backward, Dalit, Minority) is at the center of discussion in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. In this series, Samajwadi Party has once again shown its activism in Thakurdwara, the 26th assembly constituency of Moradabad district. On Sunday, a grand ‘PDA Panchayat’ was organized in Gram Panchayat Malakpur Samli of Thakurdwara, in which a huge crowd of local people and SP workers gathered. The main objective of this event was to listen to the problems of the people at the grassroots level and connect them with the main agenda of the party.

In the presence of SP leader Iqbal Engineer in the Panchayat, the people of the area openly expressed their views on development expectations and local challenges. While communicating directly with the public from the platform of PDA Panchayat, the party officials made it clear that their aim is not just to win the elections but to become the voice of the person standing at the last rung of the society.

What is the purpose of SP’s ‘PDA Panchayat’?

Actually, PDA Panchayat is a well-thought-out strategy of the Samajwadi Party. The party believes that unless there is dialogue among the people by going from village to village, it is not possible to solve their real problems. In this program organized in Malakpur Samli, local people prominently raised basic issues like poor condition of roads, education and employment.

SP leader Iqbal Engineer, while addressing the people, said that PDA stands for ‘social harmony and all-round development’. He said, “We have come here not just to do politics, but to change the picture of the area along with all of you. The way the people of Malakpur Samli have participated in this Panchayat, it is a strong wind of change.”

Politics of Thakurdwara and expectations of the public

Thakurdwara assembly constituency has been politically active for a long time. Local residents here say that leaders often come during elections, but after the elections there is no one to take care of the people. Samajwadi Party is trying to fill this gap through PDA Panchayat. During the Panchayat, there was also a discussion on how the benefits of government schemes should be delivered directly to the beneficiaries and the basic facilities in the area should be improved.

At the local level, this event is being seen as a ‘ground connect’ exercise for SP. Party officials have promised that a ‘blueprint’ of the problems raised by the public will be prepared and placed firmly before the concerned authorities.

During the conclusion of the program, Iqbal Engineer expressed his gratitude to everyone and said that this Panchayat of Malakpur Samli is another big step towards change. He called upon the people to remain united and keep raising their voice for their rights.

Political experts believe that the way PDA Panchayat is getting support in Thakurdwara, the equation of regional politics may change in the future. This move of SP has not only activated its cadre but has also presented a new challenge to the opposition parties.
