Iran-US Tension: iran has now presented a detailed 14-point plan in response to the US-backed 9-point proposal. According to Tasnim News Agency, in this plan, Iran has clearly laid down its conditions to end the ongoing tension.

This reply has been sent to America through Pakistan. This indicates that Tehran wants not just a temporary ceasefire but a permanent solution to the entire dispute. While America had proposed a two-month ceasefire, Iran has rejected it and said that all main issues should be resolved within 30 days.

What did Donald Trump say on the new proposal?

US President Donald Trump has said that he is reviewing this new proposal of Iran. He told that till now he has been informed only about the “concept” of this deal and the complete draft has not reached him. Trump said, “I am looking at it, I will tell you about it later.”

Will action be taken against Iran?

When Trump was asked whether America could again initiate military action against Iran, he did not completely rule it out. He said that he cannot give a direct answer on this, but action can be taken if necessary. Trump said, “I can’t tell this to any reporter. If they misbehave or do something bad, action may be taken. Right now we’ll see, it’s a possibility.”

What is the demand made in Iran’s proposal?

Iran’s proposal includes many big demands, the purpose of which is to change the security and economic structure of the region. These include guarantees against any future military attack, withdrawal of US forces from areas around Iran and ending the naval blockade imposed by Iran.

Apart from this, Iran has also demanded the release of its stranded financial resources, compensation and removal of economic sanctions. These issues have long been a cause of dispute between America and Iran.

Iran has not limited the scope of its proposal to just the two countries, rather it has talked about ending the fighting on all fronts including Lebanon. Besides, it has also proposed to create a new system for security and maritime movement in the Strait of Hormuz, which is a very important route for global energy supply.

Donald Trump, while giving his reaction on the social media platform Truth Social, said that he will review this new proposal of Iran, but he also expressed doubt on it. Trump said Tehran “has not yet paid a high enough price” for its past actions and the proposal was unlikely to be accepted.

Trump accused Iran of being pirates?

Tension still continues between the two countries. Iran has accused America of “legalizing piracy”. This allegation came when Trump compared US naval action against ships linked to Iran to piracy.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bakai said on social media platform X that Trump’s statement is tantamount to accepting illegal activities at sea. He appealed to the international community and the United Nations to reject violations of international maritime law.

Trump had said on Friday that the US military had seized a ship and its cargo. “We’re like pirates, but we’re not playing,” he said. He also described this operation as a “very profitable business”.

Iran has strongly condemned the news of the seizure of two tankers named Majestic X and Tiffani. These tankers are said to contain Iranian oil. Iran described the action as “armed robbery at sea,” saying it violates international law and undermines global maritime rules.
