New Delhi: Iran accused the US of violating the agreement Hormuz peace agreement after the United States launched strikes around the Strait of Hormuz and revoked a temporary sanctions waiver for Tehran to export oil.

Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi said, “The United States violated a memorandum of understanding by rejecting Iran’s role in managing traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.”
Boroujerdi, a member of Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said that the agreement and related talks had established that shipping through the strait would take place “under the supervision and management of the Islamic Republic of Iran, specifically the IRGC Navy.”
“They violated this agreement,” he said, adding that Iran had formally informed countries and vessels that routes outside the passage designated by the IRGC Navy were not safe.

Iran responded to the US strikes on the oil vessels by launching attacks on United States military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps claiming 85 facilities had been targeted.
Sirens were heard in both countries and the Kuwaiti army said air defenses were confronting “hostile” missile and drone attacks, but there was no confirmation of any damage.
US Strikes Iran
The United States launched a series of military strikes on Iranian targets after two oil tankers were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, dramatically escalating tensions in one of the world’s most strategically important waterways.
The US military said it targeted facilities linked to missile launches, drone operations and air defense systems, adding that the action was intended to deter further attacks on civilian shipping.
Oil prices jump
Oil prices have surged by 6% as renewed tensions between the United States and Iran.
Brent crude, the main international benchmark, rose more than 3 percent on Wednesday, reversing a slide that had seen prices return to pre-war levels.
