Amidst these complex circumstances, this strong assurance from Iran has brought a huge and important relief for Indian maritime trade.
Difficult conditions and promise of security
The Iranian Foreign Minister clarified in the press conference that at present the entire situation in Hormuz remains very difficult. He said that the Iranian army is continuously trying to provide safe passage to the ships and talks with them are very important. This strict step is being taken for merchant ships due to landmines and other serious threats laid in the area.
Iran has claimed that in the past also it has evacuated many Indian merchant ships completely safely from this dangerous area. Abbas Araghchi said that Iran and Oman are seriously working together to further strengthen maritime security in the future. With this important partnership, safe and uninterrupted movement of merchant ships of all countries will be completely ensured.
Ships of warring countries will be strictly examined
Iran has made it very clear that this major strait is open and all normal ships can pass through here easily. However, countries that are directly involved in any war against Iran will have their ships subjected to additional and stringent checks. This step has been taken mainly for the security of the country and to completely protect the maritime area from any kind of external threat.
