Iran Missile Attack: Iran fired missiles and drones in Bahrain and Kuwait, targeted American military bases
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have carried out large-scale missile and drone attacks on US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. In this attack on July 8, 2026, about 85 targets were targeted. After this incident, tension has increased in the entire area and many countries have strongly condemned this action of Iran.
There was a lot of chaos in Bahrain during this attack. Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) said that they intercepted many missiles and drones in the air, especially those which were coming towards residential areas. Air sirens were sounded several times across Bahrain, scaring people. The Interior Ministry advised the common people and the migrants living there to maintain peace and stay in safe places. The government has warned people that if they see any debris from the attack or an unexploded shell anywhere, they should not go near it and immediately inform about it. The 5th Fleet of the US Navy present in Bandar Salman, Bahrain was also the target of this attack.
Kuwait has also strongly condemned this attack. Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said that these attacks by Iran are harming efforts to reduce tension. Kuwait’s army confirmed that its air defense system took charge to intercept enemy missiles and drones. An attempt was made to target Ali Al Salem Air Base in the attack.
After this attack, reactions are coming from all over the world. GCC Secretary General Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi called it an attack on sovereignty. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon also warned that such actions were a threat to regional security. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas called it unacceptable, while NATO Secretary Mark Rutte called America’s previous actions against Iran necessary. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that this is a direct violation of the ceasefire.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry made it clear that security cannot be achieved through missiles and drones. Bahrain cited UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which condemns such attacks by Iran and its efforts to close the Strait of Hormuz. Kuwait has also called it a violation of its sovereignty and a dangerous step.
