Iranian state and semi-state media have criticized Trump, dismissing his claims and accusing him of trying to hide his weakness.
Trump’s claims rejected
Donald Trump claimed on the social media platform “Truth Social” that Iran and some West Asian countries had requested the US to halt military action. He also said that an agreement had been reached to open the Strait of Hormuz as part of a possible agreement, which led to his decision to postpone the attack.
However, this claim has not been confirmed by Iran. State and semi-state media outlets have dismissed Trump’s statement as completely false, saying that no such agreement has been reached.
Iranian media took aim
Iranian news agencies like Fars and Mehr launched a scathing attack on Trump. Reports stated that the US President has backtracked on strong statements several times in the past. Some reports criticized Trump, calling his threats mere political rhetoric.
Iranian media also claimed that the country’s military is fully alert and prepared to respond to any military action. They asserted that Iran will not bow to any pressure.
Questions also arose about the reason for the withdrawal of the attack.
Citing Western reports, Iranian media claimed that military action was postponed due to increasing pressure on US defense resources and missile stockpiles. These reports stated that this decision was not the result of any agreement, but rather a forced decision.
