Iran enraged by Israeli attacks on Lebanon, stops talks with America; Threatened to close Hormuz Strait
US-Iran-Israel War: A big news is coming amid increasing Israeli attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Iran has suspended its ongoing talks with America in protest against Israeli action. The Iranian negotiating team has currently halted ‘talks and exchange of messages’ through mediators. Iran says that Israel has violated all the conditions set for ceasefire in Lebanon.
Iran’s blunt demand
According to Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim, Iran has made it clear that there will be no talks until its demands and those of the regional front are met.
Iran’s main demands are…
- Israel’s military operations in Gaza and Lebanon should be stopped immediately.
- Israeli forces completely retreated from Beirut.
Warning of closure of trade routes
Along with stopping the talks, Iran has tightened its stance further. According to the report, Iran and its allied militant groups have now made a strategy to completely close the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ and activate other fronts.
This also includes the ‘Bab al-Mandeb’ area of the Red Sea, where Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels have previously targeted ships. If these sea routes are closed, it could have a very bad impact on world trade and oil supply.
Tension increased after the attack on Beirut
This decision of Iran has come just hours after the order of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he had asked the army to attack the ‘Dahiyeh’ area of Beirut. This area is considered a strong stronghold of Hezbollah. At the same time, an Israeli official told CNN that America was also taken into confidence in this plan to attack Beirut and there was coordination between the two countries regarding this.
