The move came after warning shots were fired at a ship, which the IRGC claimed was trying to pass through unauthorized passage. After this, the US military attacked Iran.

What was said in the announcement?

According to Iranian government media, the IRGC’s announcement states that the Navy will not allow any ship to pass through the Strait of Hormuz until the US interference in this area ends. The IRGC also warned that if the enemy uses this decision as an excuse for any wrong move, it will give a strong response.

In response to IRGC actions, the US military has launched a new attack on Iran. US Central Command has said that a new round of attacks on Iran has been launched. This action is being taken in response to the IRGC’s announcement that it had attacked a ship and closed the waterway until further notice.

Ship catches fire after IRGC attack

The Central Command said in a post on X that Iran had openly attacked the Cyprus-flagged container ship M/V Galaxy, which was passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It further said that one crew member was missing and the ship was unable to continue its voyage due to fire and extensive damage to the engine room.

The Central Command said in its statement that these US attacks on Iran were being carried out on the orders of the Commander-in-Chief, President Donald Trump. After previous attacks on commercial ships, Iran was given another chance to comply with the MoU, but it again failed. The Central Command said the attack was aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial ships that freely pass through the strait.
