Thousands of dangerous snakes were swept away by floods in China, created panic in residential areas, people hiding in their homes due to fear of cobra.
On hearing the name of snake, even good people start sweating, but the horrifying sight seen after the devastating flood in China has shocked the whole world. Due to floods after heavy rains, thousands of snakes have suddenly entered many residential areas of China. The poisonous snakes floating on the roads, streets and water-logged roads have given sleepless nights to the local people. Its scary videos are becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which groups of snakes are seen crawling amidst the flood water. After all, where did so many snakes come from in the flood water? The reason behind this strange and scary incident is a special area of China. In fact, China’s Guangxi region is considered to be the country’s largest ‘Snake Breeding Hub’. Here, crores of snakes and other reptiles are reared for traditional medicines, scientific research and leather products. During the recent severe floods, the protective walls of a large snake farm in this area collapsed due to the strong pressure of water. As soon as the wall was broken, thousands of snakes being reared in the farm were washed away with the strong flow of water and reached human settlements and main roads. The biggest danger of cobra, the administration issued a high alert. Among the snakes that got washed away in the flood water, extremely poisonous snakes like ‘cobra’ are also included, due to which the danger has increased manifold. The Chinese administration has issued a red alert warning the citizens that even after the flood waters recede, the danger has not gone away. These snakes can hide in the corners of houses, under the stairs, in the cracks and debris of the walls when the water level is low. People have been appealed not to make the mistake of catching these poisonous snakes themselves without any safety equipment and in case of any emergency, immediately inform the rescue team. The rescue team waded into waist-deep water and was caught using nets and stun guns. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the local administration has fielded a special rescue team consisting of expert snack catchers and 10 experienced people. In the video going viral on social media, it can be seen that rescue workers and some local people are risking their lives and wading into waist-deep water. These teams are trying to catch these crawling creatures with the help of big fishing nets, poles, special safety suits and stun guns. The continuous torrential rains in China have already wreaked havoc, the rivers are in spate and thousands of people have been displaced, but amidst this flood, this new and deadly crisis of snakes has doubled the problems of the people.
