Iran-US tension: Iran’s Foreign Minister attacks Pentagon, makes big claim regarding war spending

Desk : Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, the rhetoric between Iran and America has intensified. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has made serious allegations against the Pentagon, saying that America is hiding the real expenditure of the war and the figures are being misrepresented.

Araghchi, posting on social media platform He also said that this is having a huge economic burden on American taxpayers and the monthly expenditure per household is increasing rapidly.

He alleged that “the Pentagon is lying” and that America has suffered the most because of the strategy behind this entire conflict. Araghchi also commented on Israel in his statement and said that America is not getting priority due to this policy, but is suffering losses.

Earlier, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf had also taunted America and said that Iran’s borders are more complex and longer than America’s, hence it will not be easy to implement any kind of blockade. He also compared the length of the borders, making fun of US War Secretary Pete Hegseth’s comments.

On the other hand, according to Al Jazeera’s report, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had said in front of the Congress’ Armed Services Committee that about $25 billion has been spent so far on military operations related to Iran. During this period, he had also made sharp remarks on some Congress members.

However, on this entire issue, American Democratic leaders and many economists have raised questions on the government’s data. They say the real cost could be much higher and the figure could range from $630 billion to $1 trillion.

According to reports, the Pentagon also told Congress that billions of dollars had been spent in the first few days of the war, leading to differing estimates of the cost of the conflict.

Experts believe that due to such statements and figures, the tension between America and Iran is deepening not only at the political but also at the economic and strategic level. The international debate on this issue is likely to intensify further in the coming times.
