Rajinikanth further said that he wishes all the best for Vijay and hopes that he will live up to the expectations of the public. He also said that people have a lot of expectations about Vijay and he believes that he will satisfy everyone with his work. The actor also told that the ongoing criticism against him hurts him. He said that some people are spreading this rumor without any reason that they are jealous of Chief Minister Vijay, whereas this is completely wrong.

Rajinikanth also clarified in his statement that after the election results he had gone to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. He said that this meeting was only due to personal relations, which was wrongly given a political colour. According to Rajinikanth, their friendship is above politics and should not be made a subject of controversy. He also said that if he had contested the elections in 2021, the result could have gone in his favor but he said this only as a thought.
