Ishq Kameena 2.0: Huma Qureshi and Rachit Singh’s new dance number ‘Ishq Kameena’ released; The swag of the original song was seen in the choreography of Remo D’Souza
For Bollywood lovers and dance enthusiasts, the most beautiful memories of the 90s and 2000s are going to be fresh once again. The new and explosive song ‘Ishq Kameena 2.0’ from the upcoming film ‘Baby Do Die Do’ has been officially released. The song presents to the audience one of the most iconic and favorite dance tracks of Indian cinema in a very stylish, modern and fresh take. Let us remind you that this cult dance number was originally filmed in the year 2002 in the film ‘Shakti: The Power’ on the King Khan of Bollywood i.e. Shahrukh Khan and the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which broke all the records of success at that time. Now, almost 24 years later, the song is back with new visuals, awesome choreography and modern swag. In this new song ‘Ishq Kamina’, beautiful actress Huma Qureshi and handsome Rachit Singh are seen setting the screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry. Huma Qureshi dedicated the song to Shahrukh and Aishwarya, said this on social media. As soon as the song was released, Huma Qureshi shared a video clip of it on the social media platform ‘X’ (Twitter), which instantly went viral on the internet. Reliving her old memories, Huma wrote a very emotional and lovely caption –
"As Delhi kids, we have grown up dancing to these timeless songs of the 90s… I still can’t believe that I myself have got such an amazing opportunity to relive and recreate this cult song on screen. We love you so much Shahrukh sir (@iamsrk) and Aishwarya ma’am!"
Huma Qureshi was very nervous in recreating the cult song, there was a feeling of responsibility. Huma Qureshi spoke openly while sharing her experience and nervousness of working in the remake of such a big and blockbuster song. He said, "When the idea of this song first came to us, we were extremely excited to bring it back on screen. ‘Ishq Kamina’ is no ordinary song; This is a very big and evergreen song, on which almost every person in the country has danced at some point in his life. In such a situation, the audience has old memories associated with this song and with recreating it, a huge responsibility also falls on our shoulders."
Huma further admitted, "We were really nervous in the beginning. But one thing was completely clear in our mind that we were not at all trying to copy the original song exactly. We wanted to add our own touch and swag for today’s generation to the song, while celebrating all the special things that have made the song iconic for centuries. The best part was that Remo sir himself choreographed it for us, which made this journey even more special and easy for us. I sincerely hope that the audience will like our new style as much as we have enjoyed making it."
Remo D’Souza’s Double Dhamaka: Perfect combo of nostalgia and modernity. The biggest strength of this new version is its choreography, which has been prepared by famous filmmaker and choreographer Remo D’Souza. Remo has tried his best to give it a funky and modern look while maintaining the original soul and fun of the song. Talking about the making process of the song, Remo D’Souza said, "When Saqib Saleem came to me and said that he wanted to recreate ‘Ishq Kamina’ for his upcoming film, the first thing we both sat down and brainstormed was how to retain the same old signature feel of the song and also keep it fresh. Whenever you revisit a cult song, the biggest challenge is to strike the right balance between nostalgia and today’s modern dance moves. We wanted this new version to feel modern for today’s clubs and youth, but not lose the energy that made it so memorable. Huma has really shown amazing energy on the dance floor, and together with Rachit, they have created something magical that will have the audience dancing."
