Israeli PM spoke for the first time on Trump-Netanyahu dispute, said- there are differences in the family but relationships remain strong

New Delhi . The differences that have emerged in recent times between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have given rise to a new discussion in international politics. Several reports were published in the American media regarding a phone conversation between the two leaders, in which it was claimed that the atmosphere during the conversation was very tense. However, now Netanyahu, while reacting to this entire incident, has rejected the possibility of any serious dispute.

Netanyahu said that relations between the US and Israel are very strong and it is not unusual for the top leadership of the two countries to differ from time to time on strategic issues. He says that difference of opinions is natural in any close partnership and the same situation is seen between the two leaders also. He compared the situation to normal differences within a family and said the important thing is that communication remains constant.

The root of the recent controversy is said to be the new military operation launched by Israel in Lebanon. According to reports, Israel continued military action in some areas even after the ceasefire, increasing regional tensions. This development also affected the diplomatic efforts that were going on between America and Iran. It is believed that this is why dissatisfaction arose in Washington and Trump directly expressed his displeasure to the Israeli leadership.

American media reports claimed that Trump took a very tough stance towards Netanyahu during the phone call. Some officials were also quoted as saying that the President expressed strong objection to Israel’s recent strategy and expressed concern about its possible international implications. Trump himself later admitted that he had taken a tough stance in the conversation, although he also clarified that his intention was not to make a personal attack but to express his concern.

After this incident, questions started being raised across the world whether some kind of rift is developing in the relations between America and Israel. However, Netanyahu rejected all such speculations. He said that cooperation between the two countries on issues like security, diplomacy and regional stability continues as before. According to him, differences of opinion on any one issue do not mean that the broader strategic partnership has been affected.

Netanyahu also said that he and Trump have regular talks and the two leaders remain in constant touch on various regional and global issues. Describing Trump as a strong ally of Israel, he said that the process of dialogue between the two sides is always open and this is the hallmark of any strong relationship.

  • Experts believe that strategic coordination between America and Israel is extremely important in the complex circumstances of the Middle East. In such a situation, both the countries usually try to resolve any disagreement through dialogue. The recent developments may have given rise to discussion in political circles, but the statements of the top leaders of both the countries currently indicate that the strength of relations remains intact and the process of cooperation will continue in the future.
