Taking another big step towards harnessing the talent of the youth in the country's sports world, Adani International School is hosting this year's prestigious Indian Schools Sports Organization National Games Chess Competition 2026. More than 425 young and talented chess players from more than 100 schools from more than 10 states are participating in this two-day National Chess Championship held in Ahmedabad. Apart from the players, more than 800 students, parents, coaches and school representatives are also participating in this grand event, due to which the atmosphere of the game is very encouraging.
This National Championship has four major age group categories namely Under-11, Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19, providing a great opportunity to school students across the country to showcase their talent on a single platform. The tournament started in the dignified presence of Indian Chess Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanand and Smt. Namrata Adani, Advisory Board Member of ISSO and Promoter of ADIS. During this, Honorable Deputy CM of Gujarat Mr. Harsh Sanghvi and Director of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) Mr. Pranab Adani also graced the program with their presence.
Smt. Namrata Adani while sharing her views at the inauguration said that Chess is not just a game but it teaches the youth to think ahead, take strategic decisions and remain calm even under pressure. He emphasized that such national level competitions inculcate in students discipline, self-confidence and the spirit to move ahead in every sphere of life. During the competition, players' concentration, decision making ability and the art of maintaining composure in difficult situations are being severely tested.

This championship is not only giving students from different states an opportunity to learn from each other, but also developing sportsmanship and leadership qualities in them.
