Mumbai: The Income Tax (IT) Department has launched search operations at multiple locations linked to Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh, her father-in-law and film producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios in Mumbai.
According to reports, IT officials on Monday began the searches at 12 locations as part of an examination to find out if renowned individuals and companies connected to Bollywood are involved in tax evasion and money laundering through film activities.
Multiple teams from the Mumbai IT department are verifying documents, financial records and details of alleged overseas transactions.
The Income Tax department has not said anything about the searches as the probe is ongoing.
Rakul Preet is married to Vashu’s son Jackky Bhagnani, who is also a producer.
Panorama Studios is associated with filmmaker-producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, whose much-awaited ‘Drishyam 3’ — starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Jaideep Ahlawat – will be released in theatres on October 2.
Last year, Mumbai Police launched a hunt for Rakul Preet’s brother Aman Preet Singh in a drug case.
In an operation carried out by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force and West Zone police here on December 19, 2025, two businessmen were arrested for allegedly peddling drugs, with 43 grams of cocaine and 11.5 grams of MDMA being seized from them. Aman was suspected to have purchased drugs five times from the two peddlers.
