ITR Filing: Fill returns before July 31, more than 1.7 crore ITR filed so far

New Delhi. Income Tax Department has said that till now more than Rs 1.7 crore has been deposited for the assessment year 2026-27. income tax return (ITR) has been filed. According to the department, more than 10 lakh returns were filed on Friday alone. The last date for filing returns through ITR-1 and ITR-2 is fixed as July 31.

ITR-1 ITR Filing for Small Taxpayers

ITR-1 or Sahaj form is for individual taxpayers whose annual income is up to Rs 50 lakh. This form can be used by people whose source of income is salary, a house and agricultural income up to Rs 5,000 annually.

Who is ITR-2 ITR Filing for?

ITR-2 is for individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) whose income is not from business or profession but from other sources such as capital gains.
