This decision was challenged by Jacqueline Fernandez in the Supreme Court, but during the hearing, when the court’s stance appeared tough, Jacqueline’s lawyer sought permission to withdraw the petition and adopt another path as per the law, which was granted by Justice B.V. The bench of Justice Nagarathna and Justice Joymalya Bagchi approved.

Know what is the whole matter?

This entire controversy dates back to August 2021, when a woman named Aditi Singh had filed a complaint. He had alleged that jailed gangster Sukesh Chandrashekhar had defrauded him of about Rs 200 crore by posing as a big government officer. On the basis of this FIR of Delhi Police, the Enforcement Directorate had registered a case of money laundering.

ED claims that Sukesh had used this huge amount of fraud to give expensive gifts and luxuries to many celebrities including Jacqueline Fernandez. According to ED, conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar had spent a lot of money on Jacqueline Fernandez. He is accused of receiving expensive gifts and amenities worth Rs 5.71 crore. These gifts included luxury bags, expensive jewellery, expensive watches and cars for his family. Not only this, Sukesh had also transferred money to the foreign accounts of Jacqueline’s family.

Jacqueline Fernandes had knocked on the door of the High Court

Jacqueline Fernandez had approached the Delhi High Court to get the case and charge sheet against her canceled. But on July 3, 2025, the High Court rejected his application. The court had clearly said that how much Jacqueline’s consent was involved in this scam, how much knowledge she had about it or what her role was, all this can be decided only during the trial. The case cannot be closed at this stage before framing of charges and it would be premature to dismiss the claims of the investigating agency without a full trial.
