Vidya Balan has made a striking entry into the world of Jailer 2. After introducing Suraj Venjaramoodu’s character earlier, the makers have now unveiled the first glimpse of Vidya’s role in the highly anticipated sequel.
The actress is seen in a powerful avatar as she walks down a staircase wearing a blue sari and holding a cigarette. She then finds herself in a tense face-off before calmly blowing smoke. Anirudh Ravichander’s upbeat background score adds to the intensity of the scene and makes the character reveal even more intriguing.
Before Vidya’s first look, the makers introduced Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep. In his character glimpse, the actor is seen stepping out of a car while smoking a cigar. He also sports a noticeably different look for the film.
Jailer 2 is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. Rajinikanth will return as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, while Ramya Krishnan will reprise her role as his wife Vijaya Pandian. Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik are also returning for the sequel.
The 2023 film followed Muthuvel, a former jailer who turns to his old ways after his son goes missing while investigating an idol-smuggling case. Jailer ended on a dramatic note, and the sequel is expected to take the story forward from there.
