On the instructions of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Sumit Godara, a big campaign was launched against petrol pumps in Jaipur. Departmental teams conducted surprise inspections at petrol pumps located on Ajmer Road, Sikar Road and Delhi Road.
A total of 15 petrol pumps were inspected during the campaign, out of which nozzles of 3 pumps were seized when irregularities were found.
The investigation made a big revelation at a petrol pump located in Neendar-Harmada, where petrol and diesel were being given at 25 to 30 ml less per 5 litre. According to departmental data, due to this, about 45 liters of fuel was being supplied less per day, which reaches about 1350 liters in a month. Due to this, consumers are estimated to suffer a loss of more than one lakh rupees.
Similarly, at a petrol pump on Old Delhi Road in Shahpura, a case of giving 30 ml less fuel for 5 liters also came to light. Here, about 27 liters of fuel was found misappropriated per day and 810 liters per month.
At the petrol pump in Bagru RIICO area, it was confirmed that 40 ml less petrol was being given in 5 litres. According to the department, about 40 liters of fuel was being misappropriated here every day and up to 1200 liters in a month.
Apart from this, a notice has been issued to the Highway Service Station located at Amer and a fine of Rs 37 thousand has also been imposed.
Minister Sumit Godara said that any kind of tampering with the interests of consumers will not be tolerated. He clarified that such campaigns will continue in the future to provide the right quantity of fuel to the general public.
