A big case of alleged cheating during the examination has come to light in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The Flying Squad of Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU) during a surprise inspection caught two examiners allegedly dictating answers to students at an examination centre. After the matter came to light, the university has sealed all the 93 answer sheets of the examination hall and started investigating the entire matter.
According to university officials, during preliminary investigation, similar handwriting and answers were found in the answer sheets of many students. After this, considering it to be a case of mass copying, action was initiated. The university says CCTV footage has also been examined, in which examiners were allegedly seen telling answers to students during the exam. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty in the case.
What is the whole matter?
1. This case of alleged copying pertains to Shri Karni College located in Kajoi village of Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. BA Second Year Hindi Literature examination was being conducted between 7 am to 10 am on Saturday.
2. On Wednesday the university made the information about this entire matter public. However, the surprise inspection was conducted only on Saturday. The flying squad of the university had reached the examination center for surprise inspection.
3. During the inspection, the team allegedly found two examiners, Jai Karan and Om Prakash, dictating answers to the students inside the examination hall.
4. According to university officials, during preliminary scrutiny of answer sheets, answers of many students were found to be largely similar. After this, all the 93 answer sheets of the examination hall were sealed.
5. The university has registered a case considering this matter as a case of mass cheating. The university also examined the CCTV footage of the examination centre.
6. Officials claim that in the footage, examiners were allegedly seen telling the answers to the students during the examination. Based on this evidence a detailed investigation has been started.
7. After completion of the investigation, disciplinary action will be taken against those found guilty. Principal of Government College, Jaisalmer, Shyam Sundar Meena confirmed the incident.
8. He said that the flying squad noticed suspicious activities during inspection. Students whose answer sheets were confiscated were given new answer sheets to complete the examination.
9. Shyam Sundar Meena said that according to the rules of the university, students found guilty of using unfair means can be debarred from examinations for one to three years.
10. However, the final decision in this regard will be taken after a high level meeting of the university officials.
