New Delhi: Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has once again given a befitting reply to Pakistan from the UN platform. Let us tell you, during the UNGA session on Friday, when a Pakistani journalist asked him a question on terrorism, Jaishankar bluntly said, 'A terrorist country is asking me this question.' After this he smiled and left from there. This incident happened when Jaishankar was holding a joint press conference with Liberia's Foreign Minister Sara Besolo Nyanti. The Pakistani reporter had questioned India, accusing it of spreading terrorism in Pakistan.
Showed mirror to Pakistan
This is not the first time that Jaishankar has shown a mirror to Pakistani journalists. Even in December 2022, a Pakistani journalist in New York had asked how long will South Asia endure terrorism, then Jaishankar had said, 'You are asking questions to the wrong minister. Only the ministers of Pakistan can tell for how long Pakistan will support terrorism.

Concern expressed over sea attacks
However, apart from giving a befitting reply to Pakistan, during his press conference, Jaishankar also expressed serious concern over the attacks on commercial ships in the Gulf, Red Sea and Black Sea. He said that these incidents are no longer occasional and have become a threat to global trade. He said that in the last three months, 7 Indian sailors have died in such attacks and one is missing. Recently, an Indian sailor lost his life in the attack on the MV Cape Dao ship in the Gulf of Oman, while an Indian crew member is missing after the attack on the El Gaiya tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
IBSA countries condemn Pahalgam attack
Earlier, Jaishankar met South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, where the three countries together strongly condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April 2025, in which 26 people died. Let us tell you that India, Brazil and South Africa are part of the IBSA Dialogue Forum and all three have reiterated the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism. The Foreign Minister will be seen presenting India's side in the 81st session of UNGA on Saturday i.e. today.
