Jammu-Kashmir News: Passenger bus fell into ditch in Udhampur, 15 people died, many injured
Udhampur. The death toll in a horrific road accident in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir has increased to 15. Officials said that the accident took place near Kagot Village in Ramnagar area on Monday morning, when a passenger bus lost control on a hilly road and fell into a deep gorge.

The bus was going from a remote village towards Udhampur when the driver lost control at a turn and the vehicle fell into a ditch. Many people have also been injured in the accident, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment where the condition of some is critical. After the incident, relief and rescue work was started rapidly on the spot. Administration and police teams, with the help of local people, took the injured to the hospital. According to officials, the reasons for the accident are being investigated. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the area and the administration is constantly monitoring the situation.
After the accident, Union Minister Jitendra Singh spoke to the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur and informed about arrangements being made to airlift the seriously injured. He said that relief and rescue operations are going on rapidly and are in constant touch with the administration.
