It is reported that when both of them were surrounded by the accused, some villagers passing by started protesting. After constant pressure, the accused allowed both of them to leave from there.
The incident has been reported near Madwa village. The student was returning on a scooter with her classmate when some youths stopped them. In the viral video, a person is seen picking up the student and taking her away. According to the police, the person seen in the video with his face covered with a towel is Hareram Yadav and is said to be the leader of the group.
Situation changed due to intervention of passersby
During the incident, some people passing by protested against the accused. They pressurized the girl to leave and let both of them go from there. After increasing resistance and fearing that the situation would worsen, the accused let the students go.
That is, the intervention of the passersby present at the spot during the incident proved important for both the minors. The police is now also investigating how many people were involved in this incident. Police officials have said that the number of accused is not completely clear from the viral video.
Nandan and Hareram arrested after police encounter
Nandan Yadav and Hareram Yadav, who are said to be the main accused in the case, were caught by the police during an operation around Pratappur village on Tuesday. According to the police, Nandan was shot in the leg, while Hareram was injured and suffered a fracture in his leg while trying to escape. Both have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Earlier, three minors had also been arrested in the case. Thus, according to the police, a total of five accused have been detained so far. Based on further investigation, more arrests may be made if the role of other people comes to light.
Liquor and illegal sand business also investigated
Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Dayal has been quoted as saying that information has come to light about Nandan Yadav and Hareram Yadav being linked to illegal liquor trade and illegal sand mining. Police are also investigating the criminal history of both.
Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the case. On the basis of the viral video, the accused were identified and the police also reached the victims. The identities of the two minors have not been made public.
