The film has finally received ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In such a situation, now Vijay has expressed happiness by releasing the new poster of the film. Not only this, he has also given an update regarding the release date of the film.

‘Jana Nayakan’ gets green signal from censor board

Thalapathy Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayakan’ was waiting to get the green signal from the Censor Board for a long time. Now the film has been passed with ‘A’ certificate. For this the makers had to make 12 cuts and some changes. This means that audiences of all ages will not be able to watch this film in the theatre. Under ‘A’ certification, only people above 18 years of age will be able to watch this film in theatres.

Thalapathy himself has posted this news. He shared a new poster of the film on social media, in which ‘A’ certificate was seen written in big letters. Along with this, ‘Certified’ and ‘Coming Soon’ are also written on the poster. From this it is clear that the film will be released in theaters soon. However, the release date of ‘Jana Nayakan’ has not been released. But according to a report, this film may be released in theaters on July 24.

Why was there controversy regarding the film?

Actually, Jana Nayakan was scheduled to be released on January 9 this year but just before the release, CBFC banned ‘Jana Nayakan’. The Censor Board had initially decided to give a U/A certificate to the film with 16 cuts, but then the chairperson put a stay on it after receiving a complaint. Then the matter reached the court and a single judge directed the CBFC to grant censor certificate to Jana Nayakan. A hearing was held in this case in Madras High Court and the decision was reserved. Since then the film was stuck in legal dispute.

The film was leaked on social media

Let us tell you, Thalapathy Vijay did not just have to face CBFC, amidst all this the film was leaked online. Some videos of Jan Nayagan have been shared by many accounts on X. One of these videos was of 5 minutes 31 seconds, looking at which it seemed that it was shot in a theater during the test-screening of ‘Jana Nayakan’. In this clip, everything from Vijay’s introduction shot to the fight sequence, the title card of the film and much more was seen. At the same time, it was also claimed that the film has been completely leaked. In such a situation, the makers had appealed not to watch it.
