Jansuvidha Yojana: The state government has taken a very important decision to change the face of infrastructure in rural areas. The scope of development works has now been expanded under the District Annual Plan ‘Special Grant for Public Amenities’ given to Gram Panchayats. The government has included 5 new important works in this scheme, which has now paved the way for getting additional funds of up to Rs 90 lakh for the development of villages. The Rural Development Department has issued official orders in this regard.

What is this new decision?

In order to speed up the development of rural areas in the state, funds are provided to Gram Panchayats under the District Annual Plan under ‘Jansuvidha Yojana’ and ‘Nagri Suvidha Yojana’. Earlier, only specific works like construction of Gram Panchayat office building, improvement of crematoriums or construction of internal roads were done through these schemes. However, considering the changing needs, the government has increased the scope of these works. These 5 new schemes and the funds available for them

Solar energy system- Rs 20 lakh: Funds of up to Rs 20 lakh will be provided for setting up solar energy projects on government buildings like Gram Panchayat office, school or health center in the village. This will save the electricity bill of the Gram Panchayats. Jansuvidha Yojana

Playground development – ​​Rs 20 lakh: A provision of Rs 20 lakh has been made to develop a well-equipped playground (maidan) in the village to promote the health and sports of the youth and children in rural areas. Jansuvidha Yojana

Library building – Rs 20 lakh: Rs 20 lakh has been approved for the construction of a well-equipped library building so that the students of the village can study for competitive exams and to instill a love of reading among the citizens. Jansuvidha Yojana

Beautification of Government Waste Lands – Rs 15 lakh: A fund of Rs 15 lakh will be provided to create small gardens or beautify vacant or waste government land within the village limits, avoiding misuse. Jansuvidha Yojana

Public Street Light System – Rs 15 lakh: There will be a provision of Rs 15 lakh for installing new street lights on internal roads and public squares in villages to provide better electricity facilities. Jansuvidha Yojana

Rural areas will be transformed

With this decision of the government, the Gram Panchayats will be able to directly make funds available according to the needs of their own villages. A total limit of Rs 90 lakh has been fixed for all these five works.
