Jantar Mantar empty after 2 crore followers! What is the whole truth about CJP’s ‘flop’ crowd?

Thousands of people gathered in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar complex on the request of Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijit Deepke. In this demonstration that lasted for a few hours, the protesters have raised the demand for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protesters demanded that Dharmendra Pradhan resign from his post and accept responsibility for the rigging in NEET, NTA and CBSE examinations. The Central Government remained silent on this demonstration but the Delhi Police allowed the massive demonstration. Cockroach Janata Party officially said that it got the cooperation of Delhi Police. No unpleasant news came to light.

Abhijeet Deepke, has been living in America for 1 year. On Saturday, he landed at Delhi International Airport and went straight to Jantar Mantar from there. When he was seen at the airport for the first time, he had the biography of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in his hands. He had appealed to the people to bring flowers, tricolor and books.

A movement born out of satire, reached Delhi, succeeded in uniting the people and put forth its demands openly before the country. Now some social organizations, political parties and journalists are raising questions on the success of the movement. Among these people there are critics of the government, those who work in the IT cell of any party, biased journalists and also the general public.

Whether the movement was successful or not, what are people saying?

Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Journalist:-
One thing I have to say honestly is that not even a fraction of the 2 crore people seen on social media had come. 1 thousand to 2 thousand people can gather but where are 2 crore and where are 1 thousand people.

Why was there no impact like Anna movement?

The Anna movement was the product of months of preparation. The Cockroach Movement, a 1-month-old social media online campaign, found a voice. Abhijeet Deepke, the founder of the party, was abroad for 2 years. Even after living in America, he gathered a crowd of 2 thousand at Jantar Mantar on one appeal. This party, which has 2 crore followers, could not gather even 20 thousand people, questions are being raised about this.

Cockroach Janata Party has an old connection with the Aam Aadmi Party. Party founder Abhijeet Deepke has been a part of Aam Aadmi Party’s campaign. Abhijeet Deepke was associated with the social media and election campaigns of Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP between 2020 and 2023. He worked in the communication team, looking after digital marketing. Some Gen Ji said in different interviews that when they came to know about the connection of Cockroach Party with Aam Aadmi Party, people pulled back. How was the movement?

Thousands of youth gathered at Jantar Mantar on 6 June 2026. The protesters were demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the issue of NEET paper leak. There was anger among the youth regarding the suicide of many students and the poor education system. Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk also participated. People said in one voice that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign. The agitation ended by 3.30 and then Abhijeet Deepke said that the government has only 7 days to go. If Dharmendra Pradhan is not removed then the movement will happen again.

How did the opposition support?

Opposition parties such as Shiv Sena (UBT) and Samajwadi Party supported the movement. Analysts say that issues like paper leaks touch every family, hence it is getting wide support. Ground performance cannot be achieved by staying in America, hence it is necessary to get on the ground.

If Abhijit Deepke had not returned to America again, it is possible that this movement could have been a little more successful. The government readily granted permission for the demonstration, which some people are considering a water testing strategy. The political future of the Cockroach Party is still uncertain. The main reasons for the lack of expected crowd in the Jantar Mantar protest of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) are being said to be the difference between social media hype versus ground reality, severe heat and the newness of the movement.
