Jason Sudeikis praises Justin Bieber’s work ethic after FIFA halftime show

Jason Sudeikis has shared his honest experience coaching Justin Bieber before his headline-grabbing performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup halftime show.

Speaking on an upcoming episode of the A Lot More podcast, which premieres on August 8, the 50-year-old actor and comedian looked back on sharing the stage with the 32-year-old Canadian singer during his Ted Lasso cameo at the 2026 FIFA World Cup halftime show.

When the interviewer asked if he was a “Belieber,” Sudeikis answered without hesitation, “100%.”

He spoke fondly of Bieber, reminiscing about their first meeting on Saturday Night Live before revealing they still occasionally run into one another.

“Yeah, man, I love that kid. I got to meet him, ages ago, when he hosted and was a musical guest at SNL. We did some sketches. I bump into him every couple times a year, one thing or another,” the four-time Emmy-winning star revealed.

“I think the world of him,” he remarked, sharing that introducing the Baby hitmaker to a stadium packed with “70,000 or 80,000 people” was an incredible moment.

Recalling their FIFA World Cup halftime show appearance, Sudeikis said, “When we did the first run-through, I just gave him one little acting note. I was just like, ‘Just come in. Don’t even look at me. Just come in like the way the men and women do when they’re coming in. They’re just focused. Get eye of the tiger, you’ve got work to do.'”

He commended Bieber for responding so well to his direction.

“I mean, the kid took the note just like that. Very coachable young man,” the Horrible Bosses actor praised.
