Jayant Chaudhary’s roar: ‘Governments are made by the people, the voice of farmers will have to be heard’

Moradabad. The political excitement in Thakurdwara of Moradabad reached the seventh heaven when Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary thundered in this strong bastion of Samajwadi Party. The occasion was Vijay Sankalp Maharally, where Jayant Choudhary was also welcomed in a very unique manner. The workers had parked more than half a dozen bulldozers at the main gate of the rally venue, through which the Union Minister’s convoy passed. Flowers were showered on Jayant Chaudhary from all sides. During this, he gave the message in clear words that in a democracy, it is the people who form the governments and no government can ignore the voice of the farmers. This entire public meeting has been organized by Thakurdwara’s strong leader and former MLA Vijay Yadav.

Jayant Choudhary also appeared emotional while addressing the huge crowd gathered in the grounds of Sanatan Dharma Hindu Inter College. Remembering his grandfather and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, he said that his family and the ideology of RLD have a very old and deep connection with this area. He reminded that the path to the prosperity of the country always passes through villages, fields and barns. In view of his historical contribution towards the farmers, the Central Government has awarded him the country’s highest honor ‘Bharat Ratna’.

Jayant Chaudhary roared in SP’s stronghold Thakurdwara

Thakurdwara is considered a strong fort of SP in the politics of Western Uttar Pradesh, but by holding a rally here, Jayant Chaudhary has directly indicated to strengthen his political ground. Praising Moradabad, he said that it is not only a brass city, but the farmers here are also equally strong.

While feeling the pulse of sugarcane farmers, he clearly said that the entire economy of Western UP depends on sugarcane crop. Therefore, the interests of farmers are paramount for them. Reminding the farmers of their rights, he said that if any decision of the government goes against the farmers, then the public has every right to express their views, register protest and give suggestions.

‘That rule of Chaudhary Charan Singh and payment in 14 days’

Jayant Chaudhary said many big things in favor of sugarcane farmers from the rally stage. He told that when RLD had joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the biggest question of the farmers was regarding the remunerative price of sugarcane. After this, this demand was strongly placed before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who, showing sensitivity, increased the sugarcane price by Rs 30 per quintal. With this one decision, Rs 3000 crore has directly reached the pockets of the farmers of the state.

On the issue of sugarcane payment, he reminded an old law of 1978. Jayant Chaudhary said that during the Janata Party government, a strict provision was added to the Sugarcane Control Order due to the efforts of Chaudhary Charan Singh. Under this, if any sugar mill does not pay the farmers within 14 days, then it will have to pay 15 percent interest. In fact, this rule still exists today, but it is not being followed completely. Appealing to the farmers to remain united, he said that today in some areas the price of sugarcane is reaching close to Rs 500 per quintal, which is an excellent sign.

Clarification given on the draft of sugarcane control order and new mantra given to the youth

Clearing the confusion over the amendments being made in the Sugarcane Control Order, 1966 by the Central Government, the RLD chief said that there were some things in the initial draft which could cause loss to cottage industries like jaggery and khandsari. There was a danger of lakhs of people losing their jobs due to the rules and licensing restrictions within the 25 kilometer radius of the mills. But the objections of the farmers were conveyed to the government, after which it was seriously considered and the concerns of the farmers were addressed.

In the last part of the speech, the Union Minister talked about the country’s economy and employment of youth. He said that today when the whole world is struggling with economic crisis and war, India’s economy is standing strong. Advising the youth not to depend only on government jobs, he said that the Skill Development Ministry is making the country’s ITIs hi-tech with a scheme of Rs 7000 crore. Referring to the ‘Navachar Mantra’ program started in collaboration with IIT Delhi, he appealed to the youth to apply by July 5, so that they can convert their business idea into a startup. He made it clear that farmers, soldiers, laborers and youth have the first right on the government.
