Patna: Ahead of the next Bihar elections, the JDU has decided to directly target Gen Z. The party is now working to strengthen its presence among young people aged 20 to 25. Health Minister Nishant Kumar will be leading this campaign. According to party sources, Nishant will embark on another tour of Bihar as soon as the monsoon season ends.
Nishant said- ‘Youth are the future’
Nishant Kumar believes that today’s Gen Z generation hasn’t seen the Bihar it was before Nitish Kumar came to power. Therefore, young people will now be told in detail what the Nitish Kumar government has done for them over the past 20 years.
He clearly stated, “Our youth are the future of tomorrow.” For this reason, communication will be conducted district-by-district through the Youth JDU. Nishant has tasked the youth unit with disseminating government schemes to the people, focusing on each booth.
From student credit cards to allowances: Achievements will be counted
To appeal to Gen Z, JDU will present several important statistics and schemes to the youth. The party will explain that when banks began to hesitate in providing education loans, Nitish Kumar launched the Student Credit Card Scheme, which helped thousands of students fund their studies.
Additionally, the number of scholarships has been increased. Arrangements have been made for rations for students living in hostels. The schemes launched for youth under the “Saat Nischay” (seven resolves), the status of government jobs, and employment opportunities will also be highlighted.
The party will also inform youth about schemes like the “Skilled Youth Program” and the “Chief Minister’s Self-Help Allowance.” The aim is to directly communicate with students preparing for exams and seeking to learn skills.
Nishant is active on both the organisational and government fronts.
Nishant is active not only at the party level but also as the Health Minister. For the past few days, he has been visiting hospitals and meeting with patients and their families. He is personally overseeing everything from the availability of medicines to the treatment arrangements.
JDU’s strategy is clear: to directly communicate with the youth and understand their aspirations. Workers down to the booth level have been tasked with explaining the Nitish Kumar government’s achievements in Gen Z terms. The party hopes this youth focus will help JDU attract new voters in the future.
