Airtel and Jio have cited specific practices in their complaints to TRAI, Business Standard reports. These include making misleading calls to customers, restricting SMS associated with UPC (Unique Porting Code) required for mobile number porting and advertising discounted postpaid plans to customers migrating to Vi from other networks. Both companies alleged that these practices were used to bring their customers onto Vi's network. It has been alleged.
Complaints about postpaid plans
Complaints have also been made about the discounted postpaid plans in particular. Airtel and Jio alleged that Vi was circulating and promoting cheap tariff plans to attract customers who wanted to switch to Vi through mobile number portability.
