New Delhi: Delhi Police's initiative is continuing in the capital towards making women and youth aware about security as well as connecting them with social responsibilities. In this series, Joint Commissioner of Police, Western Range, Suman Goyal participated in a special awareness program organized at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College for Women. The program was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) cell of the college. Deputy Commissioner of Police of West District Hareshwar V. Swamy and Police Station Incharge of Punjabi Bagh were also present in the program. The girl students participated with enthusiasm in the program organized in the presence of police officers and interacted directly with the police officers.
Direct communication with girl students, open discussion regarding safety
Joint Commissioner of Police Suman Goyal, while talking to the college students, inspired them to be aware of their surrounding environment. He explained to the students that building a safe society is not only the responsibility of the police but the awareness and responsibility of every citizen plays an important role in it. He appealed to the students to be self-aware, play the role of responsible citizens and contribute actively in making the society safe. He gave the message to the youth to be sensitive towards social issues and be alert about the activities happening around them.
Took oath to create a safe society
During the program, an oath related to awareness and social responsibility was also administered to the students. During this, the girl students pledged to play their role in building a safe, responsible and aware society. The atmosphere of the oath taking ceremony was as if a new group of youth in the college campus had taken up the responsibility of carrying forward the campaign of safety and responsibility. Police officers also encouraged the students to play an active role in the society with positive thinking.
Enthusiasm of girls shown in competitions
After the awareness program, two competitions were organized for the students. The students participated enthusiastically in these competitions and displayed their talent. Better coordination of education awareness and creative activities was seen in the program. The winning students who performed excellently in the competitions were honored with certificates. The joy of achievement was clearly visible on the faces of the winners, while the event became an opportunity of inspiration for other students too.
Emphasis on communication between police and youth
Through the program, Delhi Police tried to convey the message that participation of the society and especially the youth with the police is very important in strengthening law and order and civil security. This interaction which took place on the college campus emerged as a positive step towards strengthening the spirit of trust and cooperation between the police and the students. The message of awareness, responsibility and social participation emerged prominently in the program. The police officers inspired the students to become agents of positive change in the society through their behavior and awareness.
